Oxford is a beautiful city

I’ve been too lazy to take pictures of my trip to Oxford earlier this week, but Steve has them – lovely.

Swiss open source awards 2008

June 10, 2008

ossaward2008.pngThe nominations are open on the www.ossaward.ch site, in the following categories: swissness (a project), business (a company), pioneer (a person or institution), advocacy (a person) and youth (a young person).

With my grumpy-french-speaking-minority hat on, I cannot help notice that that site is only available in german…but if I tell them I’m sure they’ll suggest that I volunteer for translating ;-)

Martin Odersky on Scala, next Monday in Lausanne

February 8, 2008

I hope to make it to Martin Odersky’s The Scala Experience talk, next Monday at EPFL Lausanne.

Update: very interesting as expected, we got a quick but extensive tour of Scala’s main features. The slides at lamp.eplf.ch are the same that he used for the talk, as far as I can tell, but the offline version won’t be as good as listening to Mr.Scala himself, obviously.

Read the (fascinating, if you ask me) story on his blog.
